The local stars will leave Liverpool audiences hopelessly devoted to their charms when Grease rocks into the Empire Theatre for 2 weeks only from 8-19 November - its first visit in over 5 years following an electrifyin' 4 year run in London's West End.
Ray Quinn began his career in the hugely popular Channel 4 soap Brookside in the role of ‘Anthony Murray' for which he won several TV awards in 2002. His further screen credits include Merseybeat and Doctors (TV) plus Bulletproof and The Singing Cactus (Film). Ray is also well known for his appearance as a finalist on The X-Factor (2006) in which he was placed second and went on to release his debut album ‘Doing It My Way', which became No. 1 platinum selling. He completed his own sell-out tour of the UK in 2007 along with performing at arenas nationwide on the X-Factor tour. Ray won the nation's hearts all over again after winning ITV1's Dancing on Ice and has been on tour twice with the hit show in the UK. He made his West End theatre debut in Grease as ‘Doody' (2008) and later went on to play the lead role of ‘Danny' to sell-out audiences at the Piccadilly Theatre. His other theatre credits include Buster at the Playhouse Theatre, Me and My Girl at the Empire Theatre and Peter Pan at the Neptune Theatre. Ray recently appeared on ITV's new primetime series Sing If You Can and is currently starring as ‘Billy' in the West End production of Dirty Dancing.
Carina Gillespie trained at the Liverpool Theatre School and made her professional stage debut as ‘Maria Elena' in the hugely successful musical Buddy - The Buddy Holly Story. Her further theatre credits include the role of ‘Linda' in Bloodbath - The Musical, and ‘Princess Tamara' in Jack in the Beanstalk in Ipswich. Carina's other credits include performing as a regular session singer for ‘Love to Infinity Records', releasing a debut single with the new pop-dance band Ezcapade (2010), appearing as a support act for ‘Basshunter' (UK tour 2010) and as a dancer in numerous music videos. Carina recently made her West End debut as ‘Sandy' in Grease at the Piccadilly Theatre and is currently reprising the role for the tour.
